What do I need to enroll?
Students must be 17 years of age and possess a high school diploma, GED or its equivalent, or sealed transcripts stating the graduation date. Foreign high school diplomas must be translated and evaluated by a certified translation evaluation service, there may be costs associated.

When do new classes start?
Check the locations page for the academy closest to you for upcoming start dates. Most locations start classes monthly, but may vary by location.
ATTENDING THE ACADEMY
How will I access my curriculum?
Students primarily access their educational materials online via our Digital Network Access (or DNA). The curriculum is completely available through DNA allowing students to complete work both in and out of the classroom. A tablet is included within the required student kit (Particapating locations only)
Do I need to purchase a cosmetology kit?
All students who are enrolled in our cosmetology program will purchase a professional cosmetology kit as part of their enrollment. This kit contains all the tools you need to help you succeed in the program!
Will I be able to work with real clients?
Of course! As part of our curriculum, students have the opportunity to practice what they’ve learned on real guests under the direct supervision of licensed professionals. Our school is designed to operate and feel like a real salon so students feel prepared for a career after graduation!

What programs are offered?
Our Academies currently offer a full Cosmetology program that includes hair, skin and nails – providing you a well-rounded education to start your career.
Will I learn both cut and color techniques?
Definitely! Our curriculum is based on the core TONI&GUY Classic Cut and Color techniques. You will learn the foundational 11 cut and 9 color techniques. Once you have learned the basics, you will learn how to utilize those techniques to build upon advanced techniques.
Will I learn makeup and skin care?
Absolutely, TONI&GUY is partnered with Pigment Cosmetics for makeup and Demalogica for skin care for professional grade products. Esthetic techniques and product knowledge are introduced at the intermediate level.
BEYOND THE ACADEMY
Will your programs prepare me for state licensing exams?
Our programs cover topics on the latest in both business and technical beauty skills for a complete education. With academies throughout the United States, our curriculum has been crafted to help students gain the skills necessary to take the state licensing exam in whichever state they’re studying!
Do I need to work at a TONI&GUY Salon after graduation?
Not at all! The focus of our cosmetology schools is in training you to become a well-rounded hairdresser, so that you can be successful anywhere in the beauty industry. With this foundation in place, our goal is to help prepare you for employment that best fits your career ambitions. However, you are always welcome to apply when ready!
