Wednesday night the students of the Toni & Guy Hairdressing Academy RI donated their time & skills to help raise money for St. Baldricks Foundation, Shaving the Way to Conquer Kids Cancer, they shaved heads and raised $4200. Thursday night we held a Cut-a-thon here at the Academy to support the March of Dimes Foundation ,we managed to pass our goal and collect $1400,thanks to our dedicated students staff and community!

For the month of December the students as well as the staff paid to dress down in hopes to raise enough money to help local families in need. We had such a great response that we had enough money to buy bags full of toys for the Toys For Tots foundation.

For twenty-five years, the

Rhode Island Community Food Bank

has worked to ensure that every Rhode Islander has access to the healthy, nutritious food they need. The Food Bank distributes approximately eight million pounds of food to Rhode Islanders in need.

There is currently a nationwide shortage of food at all food pantries. Support our food drive by bringing a non-perishable food item to support those in need.

For each $1 donated to the Rhode Island Community Food Bank, they can distribute enough food for 3 healthy meals.

Style Week Providence is a weeklong celebration of the fashion, design and culture. At its core are daily formal, invitation-only runway fashion shows for buyers, press and stylists from the Northeast and major metropolitan areas throughout the country. Modeled on major Fashion Weeks in cities like New York, Milan, Paris and London; Style Week Providence is New England’s only fashion week event that focuses on the business of fashion. Style Week's shows feature a range of designers, introducing both new talent and latest collections from internationally recognized fashion houses to buyers and media.

The students and alumni of the Rhode Island Academy were asked to partake in this incredible week-long celebration of fashion, design and culture. They assisted local stylists and make-up artists for every Style Week fashion show, partaking in the intense behind-the-scenes work that it takes to put on high caliber fashion shows, including those of Project Runway Season 7 contestants Maya Luz and Jonathan Joseph Peters. It was an incredible week for the students here at the Rhode Island Academy and they can't wait for the next Style Week Providence!
