When you enter the cosmetology program at TONI&GUY Hairdressing Academy, we do more than prepare you to pass the Cosmetology State Board. We provide you with a unique experience more like working in a salon than attending a beauty school. Throughout their program, TONI&GUY Hairdressing Academy students learn not only how to create fabulous styles and colours for their clients, but how to think on their feet.

We use a “learn by doing” approach and our students are trained in and execute their first haircut on a mannequin head on their second day in class. This unique approach means our students enjoy a hands-on education, are prepared for the salon environment and are comfortable serving clients.

INSTRUCTION The first 350 to 400 hours will be spent receiving step-by-step instruction that takes the student through each of the New Classic Cuts and the New Classic Colour Collection, and then advances from there. TONI&GUY Academies use video, live instructor demonstrations, illustrations, textbook examples and hands-on manikin training during this time.
HANDS-ON EXPERIENCE WITH CLIENTS The clientele that frequents our academies primarily requests cut and colour. This provides the optimal opportunity for the students to develop the skills most needed in the field today and to maximize familiarity with the latest trends. Our students will tell you that they are able to create a customer base that will follow them after graduation.
PRACTICAL KNOWLEDGE TONI&GUY believes that students learn best when they are free to experiment and able to develop first-hand knowledge. To enhance this learning experience, students mix their own colour in the dispensary instead of having an instructor do it for them. Using TIGI professional colour line, TONI&GUY spares no expense to provide opportunities for hands-on, practical applications of colour techniques.
LICENSURE While working on the floor, TONI&GUY Hairdressing Academy also prepares students to pass the necessary state board successfully. The skills required for these tests are somewhat different from the typical styles used by our salons. Working on practical tasks outlined on the state board sheets will ensure that you receive the proper education to successfully pass the state board.
NETWORKING & INDUSTRY CONTACTS Being a part of the world renowned TONI&GUY brand with the largest salon base in the world and 19 hairdressing academies in the US alone has its advantages. 1. How much is tuition?
TONI&GUY offer competitive tuition rates starting at $15,000. Prices do vary slightly by academy so please contact your chosen school for specific pricing. 2. Do I have to pick between cut or color at the academy level?
No. You will graduate from the TONI&GUY Academy with proficient knowledge in both cut and color techniques. Our objective is to produce graduates who are prepared for their Cosmetology State Boards, are salon ready and will make an immediate impact on the hairdressing industry as the whole in all disciplines of Cosmetology.

3. How long is the program?
Our cosmetology program takes approximately 10 months; this may vary slightly by location and student performance. We feel strongly that each student should master every objective of the program before progressing to the next level.

4. When do new classes start?
We have new classes starting at the beginning of every month on the first Tuesday of every month. This means that as soon as your enrollment process is complete, you can look forward to starting the program in less than a month.

5. Am I required to work at a TONI&GUY salon after graduation?
No. Our focus is training students to be successful in the hairdressing industry. Our goal is to help graduates attain employment at a quality salon that best fits their needs and ambitions.

5. Do you guarantee job placement?
We offer our graduates career services to help find employment that suits them best. While we cannot guarantee job placement, TONI&GUY academies have impressive placement rates due to our high educational standards.
